.. Wollmeise Sock Yarn that is. Last Friday, I sat on the computer waiting for their shop to update and then grabbed some random colours. They feel nice and have nice, vibrant colours. I will say more once I actually used any of them. Apparently, Snoopy likes the red colour.

Sure was weird and upsetting, but all turned out ok so I will just not post about it.
I did do some knitting today to relax, but I started the wrong project because I have to count like crazy and it’s so very fine! It’s coming along fine, but much slower than hoped. It’s a lace stole that might end up as Christmas gift.

Sorry about the photo quality. I forgot my camera at home once again .. but used my dad’s ultra awesome new cell phone .. the built in camera has even a flash - wow!
I am done with my degree. I do not have to do anything more except getting the diploma on the 25th July.
I spent most of my time prior to being done with spinning, as it does not involve counting or much thinking and made some lovely yarn. Snoopy helped by supervising the drying process of yarn, took care that no one screwed around with it and made sure it looks lovely.

Here are some close ups of the yarn. It’s 140g and 597m. The knitting needle in the photo is a 2.5mm.

I started some toe up with this yarn and actually should have enough yarn to make two pairs - one for me and one for my mom.
I finally finished something that I have been working on since a while. Actually, it was only missing a zipper for a while until I finally got to make myself go out and buy one. Anyway, here’s my Aurora Bag - isn’t it a beauty? And very useful, too.

Now that I can forget about my thesis for now, I decided to do some spinning, knitting and stitching. Not all at the same time, but I finished plying some yarn earlier and this is now drying. No photos yet. I stitched on the RR, but no photo yet.
However, here’s the photo of my Aurora Bag I am working on. I love this piece. The yarn is perfect for it. I need to knit one more pocket and then the handles.

I am still pretty upset about that job not being mine, but ah well. Sure something else will come up. Thanks Heidi and Sonya for the heads up
Yesterday was my granny’s 78th bday. We celebrated by going with her to breakfast as well as taking her to my parents and spend the day with her, eating cake and BBQ. It was a nice day. I spun a bit and she was very interested in that.

Here’s a long term project I am working on. I want to spin enough yarn to knit a Snoopy bunny that will be felted. Needed is around 330 meters of yarn. This skein took two days to do and has about 19 meters .. you get the idea of the time frame for this.
.. is called Kiri and knitted with mohair yarn. I like it so far, though I have an error in the left (beg of the right side) which is noticeable. However, this yarn makes it almost impossible to frog, so I will just weave it a little when I am done and it’ll be better.

.. and it’s great
I love the finished result. Isn’t it a beauty?

I also tried some spinning yesterday, and got some nice thicker than DK yarn out .. sadly only 2.5m after plying
I wish I had more fiber to spin some more yarn. It’s fun and addictive

Sorry no stitchy photos. I just cannot get into stitching - which is bad. Putting little stitches on fabric is boring me and giving me bad headaches - since I need to work almost all day starring at the screen, knitting and spinning is quite relaxing for my eyes.
Remember my hand spun yarn? I made a little felted bag out of it. Not 100% what to do with it as it’s rather small (camera size) and does not have a zipper or other closing thing. Will have to think about it again.

.. blocking. It’s missing the fringe which I will add after it is dry. I only got to make 10.5 instead of the 11.5 pattern repeats as I was running out of yarn. It was an easy and quick knitting with a stunning result

I got to knit a little while doing 30 mins of step (which is a part of Wii Fit) and later while we ate. I did 7 repeats out of 11.5, though I might do it a little bit longer, but not sure yet.

I also was a good girl about the cute Doggy RR and stitched the head as well as most frame of the border.

I only knitted a little between yesterday and today. I cannot remember what I did yesterday that took so much time … oh, never mind .. I had trouble with the hank of yarn as I never used it before and it got all knotty as I did not roll it into a ball of yarn. Took over half the day to fix it. Today was mostly spent running around and shopping.

I also got to - for the first time in over 7 years - to drive automatic. I remember the first time 7 years ago was in a foreign country with a car I did not own. It was bad, as I always hit the break peddle real hard having the stick methods in through and through. Anyway, this time it worked really well and the car is just lovely.

Since forgetting almost every crafty-related thing and not being able to do what I was hoping, I started with what I have and saw what I can do from my Possum Paints. I already took fancy in Sinuate the day it came out. The colours in the photo are not so well as it’s night and I had to use a flash.

Thanks Sonya and Heidi for your comments. The yarns are really beautiful and I sure will be busy for a while
I admit it’s not a big update as I had to do some other (house) work before I got to stitch, but here it goes:

I also worked on a test knitting a new pattern. It’s secret, so not much infos or a photo. I can only tell it’s an unusual sock
Hope you all missed me. I am so busy writing on my thesis, I barely get to do anything else
It’s very stressful and exhausting to stare at the screen all day and do work. I am also battling a virus, cold or whatever .. since January, but no such luck to get rid off it.
Anyway, here are some photos I wanted to share with you all. First, the new sweater I started two or three weeks ago, it now only needs sleeves:

2nd, I received my Exchange Item at the Just Because Exchange from the Cross Stitching forum. It’s a beautiful coaster

And last but not least, this here:

which is from Cross Stitch Crazy, a Mystery Prize for having my letter for the “Your Say” section printed :) I especially like the hanger and the ornaments
