Happy Birthday, Dad!

Selina | Family | Tuesday, 24 June 2008

Yep, today’s my dad’s birthday. He’s 53 now. Sadly, he did not get to spend the day with his family as he had to travel for work until Thursday. Party will be on Saturday with my aunts, uncles and whoever else is showing up - this is going to be so much fun.

Sorry …

Selina | Family | Saturday, 07 June 2008

.. to everyone coming here for crafty photos. There are none. I have not done anything for quite a bit. No time and too exhausted. My dad had a mini stroke last week. Quite a shock, but he’s doing ok (more or less).

I hope to be back on track again in a few days, so I can share craft photos.

My thesis is more or less approved now, only some minor changes and I am done. I already got the invitation for the graduation - can’t wait. Will need to see who will come, so I can let the college now.  No job news yet. I think it’s mainly because I am not graduated yet.

Look what I got!

Selina | Family, Gifts Exchanges & Co | Monday, 24 March 2008

We just got home from our Easter time at my parents. It started snowing in Neustadt and with forecast for snow and rain in the afternooon, so we left as soon as we finished eating. Driving was ok, though very tireding.

Anyway, once home there was an envelope in our mail box from my dearest friend Heidi. Some lovely chocolate and stitch markers for knitting in a lovely bag - it’s like she read my mind! I was wondering how I could make/get some markers just yesterday!! Thank you, I love them :)

Happy Easter!

Selina | Family | Sunday, 23 March 2008

As an Easter tradition, hubby and I coloured eggs and gave them to Snoopy to show off his Easter bunny time.

We always buy the colours on sale, so this time we got different ones from last year. They were for putting the egg into the water with the disolved colour.

They turned out ok, though not as nice as last years. We did some additional colour to them, so they were not so boring.

I am still here, just being busy with stuff.

First the good news: my dad’s back home since Thursday afternoon and is doing fine. They sent him back home after all test results were good. He’s back to his normal self sitting outside and comanding the three of us to do all sort of things ;)

Now the not-so-good news: My blood results show that I am in top health, yet again .. which leaves only the conclusion that I have a depression. I got anti-depresiva, which are pretty nasty :( My hands are still not 100% ok, but using the laptop is ok, as long as there’s no need for a mouse. I just need to get back into business again as I am already far behind and need some serious catching up to do. Still no word from college, either. ARGH!

I did not get much stitching done as the last few days we were busy with our grapes. We had at least 20lbs of them! Gues what we did! …. Grape Jelly!! A whole bunch of it. 12 big jars and 9 small jars - and the small jars aren’t exactly tiny. See here all those jars … now the bread maker will be super busy to make bread for all the Jelly.

I think Snoopy did like his little vaccation, though he had to stay in one day due to rain. That day was filled with me running behind him trying to prevent him from *playing* behind my parents couch, which turned into his favourite game.

We took him, our luggage and 11 glasses of grape jelly home by car today, and will follow them tomorrow. We got lots of things in the mail, which we need to get tomorrow as well.

thank you

… for all your support, thoughts and prayers. i am very thankful for each of you. i do indeed have the most wonderfull online friends. many hugs and much love to you all.

luckily, it was no heart attack, though it was their first diagnosis. dad had more like a strong heart flickering - if that isthe correct term. he came home tonight, on his own risk. tommorow he will need to go back for more tests and to get infos for the diet he will need to do.

now as yesterday was not bad enough, i got a letter from college today, basically saying i got expelled. i wrote one exam three times, but took one semester off while working. so now they say it took me too long. i just do not get why they did not tell me before i wrote the test a third time, since it was obvious i would not pass on time. no need to worry, though. i will take legal action as well as write yet another excuse. i only have one semester left and they did allow me to write the test in the first place. was just hoping that with all the good grades i had this semester i’d get off easy. ah well.

wonder what happenes tommorow…

need to off now. my hands still hurt, so i use the wii to write to you. it’s a pain. hopefully, i will be able to stitch tommorow again. have a lovely day

:(

Selina | Family | Monday, 20 August 2007

Please pray for my dad he just had a heart attack and is in the hospital now. He’s better, but still in ICU.

Additionally, I have tendosynovitis which makes typing very hard and painful. They also took some blood as I have yet another mysterious sickness.

I will see you all later. Hugs, Selina

still around

Selina | Family, Linabear Creations, School & Work, me | Wednesday, 25 July 2007

we spent the weekend with the family, which was nice after such a long time. We BBQed and played games, listened to music and so on.

We came back Sunday, played more games and I had to go to school on Monday. I did not feel well since a while, but it did get worse, so I went alone to my parents to see the doc first thing Tuesday morning. Having a horrible cold and can hardly stay on my feet - hooray :-/ I got antibiotics and hundrets of other things.

Now today I am just laying around, slept a lot, pains everywhere and whatever else. How much fun that is. I am trying to finish one more model, so I can finally update lbc, but I am not sure if I can manage before we go on holiday. Cross your fingers for me.

I must go to school tomorrow and Friday, since there are presentations :( I also have to write a stupid essay for the test, do not know how I can manage yet. I am so out of it. While talking about school, I can proudly say that I passed all tests (-1 that is still not graded) with fine grades. Guess I am not too stupid after all ;)  .. Hubby deserves some extra thanks, that’s for sure :)

Hubby and I are heading to be married for one year!! Time flies when having fun and we do have much fun. The only thing we ever really argue about is …. guess … in-laws (in-law-family)!!!  The situation actually turned all the way around, while usually I was very welcome and liked at Andy’s family, now I am the one everyone pretends that is not excisting. No one ever calles, emails or visits or anything. Makes me so mad and hurts very bad, but who ever said life was nice?

I guess it’s time to lay down again. I start feeling sick again. I will take a little photo of my model later tonight :)

Selina | Designing, Family, Stitching | Sunday, 10 June 2007

Here’s a little preview of my new design. It stitches up faster than my garden for the RR ;) I think I will try a little rotation between the design and the RR :) .. so tomorrow will be garden time hopefully.

A little request: my granny’s in hospital after talking nonsense and aparently because she took too many pills of one kind before that .. those things happen more and more, so she should be really put into a supervised home.

Please also consider my parents in your thoughts. My dad is having nerve disturbances in both sides of his back, meaning that his feet are numb. In addition, my parents have had a hard time with their business and NOW more work than they can do - esp. with two sick workers.

thanks [smilie=love5.gif]

Happy Easter!

I will be uploading some Easter pics later today to our family gallery, so hop over and check it out.

eta: I uploaded the pics into our gallery, in a subalbum from Andy, Selina & Co. Thanks for stopping by and looking.

Oh boy

Selina | Bunny, Family, me | Thursday, 05 April 2007

… another one of these nights/days.  My stomach decided to go on the riot during the night, so that was NO fun. So, I wanted to sleep in a bit longer - no such luck. Hubby and I got woken up by some weird noise. Turns out Snoopy had a visitor in his cage. He did not care about it, but we did a lot. Luckily - or maybe badly - it was in the cage, so we just threw his cage out (without Snoopy, of course) and waited til the visitor left. Got the cage back in, cleaned it and put hay in.

Then I packed our things, as I will not be going home after school *awww*. We’ll be meeting at the station to spend the holidays with the family. Andy will bring our stuff and bunny. We’ll be arriving at 7, so mom is cooking us some yummy things.

The good news is, that I remembered my PIN and finally could get the money out I needed for the ticket and my book. Yay. I am a lot poorer now, but it’s great I got it :)

I was going to rant about all the admin of big BBs that have no job and how stupid some college mates are, but I let it be and shake my head in disbelief.

Funny things happen

Selina | Family, Stitching | Saturday, 31 March 2007

me: are you going out with me on a date?
hubby: yes, to the kitchen

mom: I want this cage.
employee: Oh, I am sorry. We only have it in blue.
mom: I don’t care. I will take blue.

I think it’s crazy to assume she’d not want it if the cage is blue. It’s not like she went in and said she wanted a blue rabbit cage.  Makes one wonder what colour they usually sell cages in - pink with green dots? Who knows.

I am debatting with myself how to use the patterns I have been working on the last few days. While the stitching part is rather clear, I am not sure if I should finish everything the way I thought or go new ways. I will have to discuss this with my hubby and see what he thinks.

I stitched some on an UFO I have been having here since forever and which I should finally get some work done on so I can send it to the next person. It’s a mini count and the pattern is not my taste, so it takes forever to get something done, ah well:

Thanks!

Thank you all, my friends, for your comments and good wishes. It’s wonderful to know to have such wonderful friends from all over the world. It means a lot to us.

Apparently the truck was the only broken thing our family had to deal with. However, it’s a 4,000 Dollar problem and fixable. Yay. The insurance will pay all of it and the truck will be alright again.

Talking about money-ish things: Linabear Forum is having a new, beautiful freebie. Hop over and enjoy it. Also, there’s a lovely contest started by Angela. Just go to Linabear Forum and join. You can win lovely prices and it’s totally free to join.

Updates

Selina | Family, us | Thursday, 18 January 2007

Bad news from my parents. My dad was checking the land at 1 PM and everything seemed to be alright. When the storm hit them, some scaffolding got loose and destroyed their truck :( My dad described it as if they got hit by a bomb. An insurance guy will check it out tomorrow, but it looks like a “fatal” damage. Luckily no one was hurt. They have that giantic fence all around them, otherwise the downfalling roof from the neigbour house would have damaged their house. We here are better off, without any major damage to be seen outside. It was said the storm will weaken starting around midnight. Let’s hope so.

Since I felt better after my rant and have not too many bad feelings anymore, I decided I deserved a relaxing day. So I stitched some and did another survey :)

My grandmom is in hospital with a heart attack, again. That year just starts as great as the old one ended :-/

As for completely other news, Andy and I are on bed haunt. Why? Because my parents would like to keep my bed in my bedroom as a guestroom and we get to pick a new bed. This is not so easy as one think. We have been running around over two hours today, and found nothing too well, yet.

Our internet at the apartment is not working yet either, alas we need to stay at my parents for another while. It’s nice on one side, as I am glad it all worked out alright. But also a pain as there’s so much to do in the new place which we cannot do or work on now. And I still did not get to learn anything yet, and tests are in one month :(
