means missing in action. And that’s what I am - missing in action. I am messing with my thesis all day and hope that I am able to give it away tomorrow. I cannot wait. I am so tired of it.
I lost something important. I do not know where it is, but I am sure it is somewhere. Hope I will find it soon. And I also forgot the cable for my laptop, so it’s dead until we or my aunt can pick it up. Great
ETA: I fond the important thing! Thank goodness. I felt so bad about it.
I am still here, but I am kind of sick - mainly headaches, stomach and exhaustion. I am still not done with my thesis which drives me crazy. I did not stitch either, as I am still looking for my bug. I will update Linabear Creations next weekend.
So, now for the fun part. I got two new spindles Tuesday. They’re lovely, wonderful and totally great. I got to spin really thin yarn on them. I just love thin yarns.

And now the big deal … After being overly excited to be able to spin the kind of yarn I like, DH got me a spinning wheel off ebay - isn’t he the greatest? It’s an elder Louet S10 with single treadle. I got it yesterday and been spinning since then.

I spun the lovely yarn below - which is hand dyed with Kool Aid - has around 16 WPI and is 2 plied. I am rather proud of myself as this is my first yarn on the wheel
Sadly the photo does not show the lovely blue tones it has. I will either try to spin more of this yarn to knit something bigger or use that skein to knit a camera bag. Not sure yet.

Bigger Photos of all can be seen in our gallery
Thanks for looking.
I am still pretty upset about that job not being mine, but ah well. Sure something else will come up. Thanks Heidi and Sonya for the heads up
Yesterday was my granny’s 78th bday. We celebrated by going with her to breakfast as well as taking her to my parents and spend the day with her, eating cake and BBQ. It was a nice day. I spun a bit and she was very interested in that.

Here’s a long term project I am working on. I want to spin enough yarn to knit a Snoopy bunny that will be felted. Needed is around 330 meters of yarn. This skein took two days to do and has about 19 meters .. you get the idea of the time frame for this.
. I did not get the gov job I was hoping for
Pretty sad and down at the moment
.. is called Kiri and knitted with mohair yarn. I like it so far, though I have an error in the left (beg of the right side) which is noticeable. However, this yarn makes it almost impossible to frog, so I will just weave it a little when I am done and it’ll be better.

.. and it’s great
I love the finished result. Isn’t it a beauty?

I also tried some spinning yesterday, and got some nice thicker than DK yarn out .. sadly only 2.5m after plying
I wish I had more fiber to spin some more yarn. It’s fun and addictive

Sorry no stitchy photos. I just cannot get into stitching - which is bad. Putting little stitches on fabric is boring me and giving me bad headaches - since I need to work almost all day starring at the screen, knitting and spinning is quite relaxing for my eyes.
Remember my hand spun yarn? I made a little felted bag out of it. Not 100% what to do with it as it’s rather small (camera size) and does not have a zipper or other closing thing. Will have to think about it again.

.. blocking. It’s missing the fringe which I will add after it is dry. I only got to make 10.5 instead of the 11.5 pattern repeats as I was running out of yarn. It was an easy and quick knitting with a stunning result

We’re back. It was a lovely, sunny, warm, funny, enjoyable day. Navigation worked fine and all went well - we never once went the wrong way, so yay. Our car was doing great - and I absolutely, totally, utterly love having air condition.
Anyway, we arrived at around 8:30ish, bought the tickets at a ticket machine. And mine said Kid. I was like ugh … re-checked the machine and saw that I have to pay the same amount as kids being a student.
I though there were so cute. For a little story, on tv while - they still aired Stuttgart’s Zoo - they show they built some breeding cave for them .. and we really saw them standing there
I really loved the old buildings. They were very beautiful.
That was a funny thing happening - first there was one standing there, then the 2nd one joined .. and then the last one joined for this lovely group photo.
Baby goats were there, too. This is a particularly funny
this is another great shot. I love the lake in front of that elderly building - so do the Pelicans apparently.
And last but not least .. something I was all excited about and unsure if we could see him or not .. Wilbär - the little polar bear with his mommy. Isn’t he the cutest? There was a line to see him close up (as in the regular way you see a polar bear), but it was long and we decided to just pass it. Luckily, not going to the “regular” place did enable us to see him from a little hill way better and for an unlimited time. Talking about luck
Tomorrow is going to be pretty awesome. My lovely hubby and I are heading to this place, which is going to be lovely. Stuttgart is 83 km away from our house and it will take us (if there is no problem on the roads) a little over an hour to get there.
They open at 8:15 AM, so we’ll be leaving around 7. I expect lots of traffic and many people, so not really my kind of thing. Add to the mix that Monday is bank holiday, so it could be pretty full both in the zoo and on the roads, but ah well.
I think we’re going to be there all day. It’s so huge and so many things to see, so we will be surely busy. Luckily, we exercised with Wii Fit so we can walk longer and better
I got to knit a little while doing 30 mins of step (which is a part of Wii Fit) and later while we ate. I did 7 repeats out of 11.5, though I might do it a little bit longer, but not sure yet.

I also was a good girl about the cute Doggy RR and stitched the head as well as most frame of the border.

I plied my plies together and it turned out ok, though I think it might be underplied? Or overspun? I do not know. Either way, it’s defineltely something that I can actually use. It’s bulky and has a metrage of 32. I am just thinking what I should do out of it.

.. is also ready. This one is a bit thinner, but also a bit less even. Can’t wait until they’re both set and I can ply them. Might make a birthday gift for my grandmom out of them or a mother days gift for mom. Will have to see how much (or should I say how less?) it is, though.

I think I am getting the hang of spinning
but sadly no more spin able fibers here
.. in over four years. And I think I did a fine job. The yarn is even, though there are some thicker and thinner part. This is the first ply of a two-plied yarn. Part two is dark blue. The yarn will be (I guess) bulky, which I do not like too much, but I am happy with my first try.

Now I only need to practice how to spin thinner and more even.
well, almost! I am getting too tired to keep stitching, so I will move to some knitting soon before we go to bed.
