Happy Halloween

Selina | us | Wednesday, 31 October 2007

the fun never ends at our house ;) Here’s the Jack-O-Lanterns Andy and I made. It was actually pure luck that we got some pumpkins. Yesterday when we went around and did not see a single one. Today, when we went to buy drinks we were lucky. There was a little market outside the supermarket and one of the booths had vegies .. and pumpkins :)

Hubby made the Pacman one and I di the one with X-ed eyes. If you follow the link from my last post, you can see more photos :)

Look …

Selina | us | Wednesday, 31 October 2007

.. at our graveyard and spook cupcake. Aren’t they scary? I baked all the cupcakes, let them cool and then hubby and I added frosting an all other sort of decoration :)

We picked the best four to take a close up look - two are by me and two by my hubby. If you like, you can let us know which one of those you liked the best, so hubby and I can see who’s scarier of us ;)

Selina | Gifts Exchanges & Co | Tuesday, 30 October 2007

I received my Halloween piece from my Secret Partner today. It is a lovely witchy ornament and a lovely Halloween card together with some candy. I am thrilled, so much that hubby and I went out to and bought a ghost and a jack-o-lantern. We also wanted to have a pumpkin, but no luck. Watch out for tomorrow anyway, we will do some lovely … well .. I do not want to say too much.

Halloween freebie

Selina | Designing, Linabear Creations | Tuesday, 30 October 2007

I know I am late … but I finally uploaded the freebie for Halloween. It can be found on www.linabear.com under the Freebies and Tutorial link. Please spread the word as usual - thanks :)

PIF time .. again

Selina | Gifts Exchanges & Co | Monday, 29 October 2007

I know I played along over a year ago, but now is time for the 2nd round which I got from Virpi’s blog :)

I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week.. but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

Do you want to play along? It would be great if you could mention few things that you like especially.

Secret Santa ..

Selina | Designing, Stitching | Saturday, 27 October 2007

.. grew a tiny little bit more today. The plan is to hopefully finish the socks/shoes till Monday and then move on to the tree. I hate stitching the tree. There are so many greens, so many stitches and so much counting involed.

I decided to stop for now as I finally have to work on models for Linabear Creations. In fact, I stitch on a series of Christmas Ornaments right now. I am using Kreiniks and DMC colour variations. It is coming along nicely. And do not worry, I did not forget about the freebie. I will get it ready tomorrow and upload it :)

Oh .. and thanks for all your comments :) I added your blogs to my bloglines and will make sure to stop by. I think the fabrics I am using is 28ct Brittney Lurex in Gold Flecked Coffee from Zweigart. Not 100% sure as I bought it all two years ago.

Secret Santa…

Selina | Stitching | Friday, 26 October 2007

… I did a nice amount of stitching on it done :) I highly doubt it will be done on time for Christmas, but then again it does show Santa after Christmas, so no problem ;) Hubby asked me if we can keep it when it’s done … because my Cinderella was taken from me by my parents ;) They hung it in their living room. This time we will try to keep it ;)

Halloween Pillow

Selina | Designing, Stitching | Thursday, 25 October 2007

Here’s my little Halloween pillow. It was stitched on 32ct ice blue from Silkweaver using left over thread and glow in the dark white (for the ghost). To add to the spooky-ness I added some spider webs as a frame. It does not come out too well in the photo, but surely looks scary ;) Pattern will be avaible this weekend on linabear.com, will make a post then :)

Secret Santa

Selina | Stitching | Wednesday, 24 October 2007

I do not know if anyone remembers this or if it was even on my blog ever, but here’s the latest photo of my Secret Santa. I do not know when it can possibly done as I have a giantic work load (as always) and need to get back into model stitching, too.

Halloween time ..

Selina | Knitting, Stitching | Tuesday, 23 October 2007

.. well almost. I stitched about half of my halloween piece which will be avaible for free download whenever I am done (probably over the weekend). Here it is:

I also started knitting on Christmas gifts. This one will be for my dear hubby, though there’s a good chance he will use/get it way before ;) It will be a sock which will show up once in a while on my “working on” section. I tried to take a photo of my progress, but the photo came out all blurry. I should have a better one tomorrow.

Ada (thank you for your comments :)) asked about which knitting patterns I am using and I thought I’d just answer as a post rather than a comment … anyway … generally, since I am married to an American and am German myself, it does not make too much of a difference for me if something is in English or German. I can follow both languages rather well, the problem is the different  names for stitches. Knit is called here rechts stricken (right knit) and purl is called here links stricken (left knit). And those are the easy ones. The last few patterns (patchwork socks, gloves and now the new socks) are all from three different German books I bought.  In the past I followed some English patterns - for example, I learnt sock knitting using English instructions, but now use a German book. It is a sock workshop with all sort of heels and toes, ideas and patterns. It is very neat. Sadly, I cannot speack French, so no chance I could do one of those.

Gloves all done

Selina | Knitting | Tuesday, 23 October 2007

I have been quite busy so far. Finally, I got to knit the last finger, sew off all ends, crochet the last bits and added the ribbons. So here are my first ever done gloves. Not bad for a self-taught, eh? ;)

Finished Needle Book :)

Selina | Stitching | Sunday, 21 October 2007

I finished my needle book a little while ago and just took some photos of it. The finishing took most of the day and I do think it was well worth it. So far, I did not take photos of the inside, but will do sometime soon and add them to my gallery.

My Craft Closet ..

Selina | this_and_that | Sunday, 21 October 2007

.. is now done. It was my craft closet ever since we moved, but there was never enough space as it had no shelves inside. Hubby got the idea to get shelves for inside the closet so I spent my money on two shelf like thingys.

I had to spent a while to get everything in - more or less organized, but now it is all under control. My knitting stuff is on the left in the photo (aparently, since you see the yarn ;)) and the stitchy things are on the right. My crochet yarn is still in a moving box, but will make the big move sometime.

Needle book update

Selina | Stitching | Saturday, 20 October 2007

I finished the needle book as far as cross stitching goes. Now I will need add beads or french knots tomorrow … well, who am I kidding? I’ll add beads ;) With some luck I will be able to finish the whole thing tomorrow :)

Oh yes … I almost forgot. I hope you do like my new template. The header image rotates between me & Aireen, Aireen and Snoopy. And the working on images is also random. There are still some things that need to be worked on, but my blog is online and I am happy with the theme … the little errors will be worked on sometime ;)

needle book

Selina | Stitching | Friday, 19 October 2007

I decided it is time to start a stitchy project for me before moving to my Halloween freebie. It’s another design by my friend Judy @ JAT. I finished the word part, though the I screwed up the middle line - D’oh for me! Hope to have the stitching part done tomorrow, that’d be wonderful :)
