We arrived!

Selina | Trips & Co | Tuesday, 31 July 2007

back at home this time. We’re both tired, but happy. It’s so great to be back home yet again.

Today was used to go into the center and see at least one church, and so we did. We saw a church that was ok and some buildings. Interesting was this fountain with the fish on top.

Taking a photo of the church from outside was impossible, there were buildings all around it and no way to back up far enough to get some nice photos, the inside was much easier to capture for you all.

After that, we hurried to the main station to get catch the sightseeing bus. It was like the buses in London (so I heard). The ride was rather decent and we indeed saw a few buildings we sadly missed during our running around. My picutres turned out between awful and awesome ;) Here’s one of the better one that turned out pretty neat *accidently*:

After the bus tour we went to the hotel since it was almost time to check out. We packed and looked up online if we could have gone home earlier. Luckily, there was a train that went straight through to Karlsruhe so we hurried and took it.

I love to be home again, though we had to go out once more to buy food. All in all Munich was alright. I think I - and possibly Andy - could have enjoyed it a lot more if I had not been sick.

You can see more photos of all four days at our family gallery! Please hop over for a visit :)

Day 3

Selina | Trips & Co | Monday, 30 July 2007

Today we decided to go to the Schloß Nymphenburg. We took the cable car after getting some breakfast at McDo ;) and went there. It was #### cold. We froze badly, but were too lazy to go back to the hotel to get our coats. Here’s the palace:

and hubby and I freezing our behinds off ;)

After that we went on a mission to find the KFC in town. Sadly, due to my stomach :(, we had to cancel our project. We got a Bretzel (nope, not spelled wrong). We took a little nap and then thought the Zoo would be nice. We took the subway, which seems to be fast.

The Zoo was nice, all animals hubby and I like - lions, bears, polar bears and more. The lion seems to be having much fun with his *little* treat:

So did the polar bear that *played* with a shopping basket.

So did all the other animals, who played. After the Zoo we successfully looked and found KFC and ate there. It was yummy. I am so tired, esp with my constant health problems. We also figured that Munich is not as super as Nürnberg or Salzburg.

Day 2

Selina | Trips & Co | Sunday, 29 July 2007

Today started off bad with us trying to find a drug store being open on Sunday - aka an Emergency Drugstore. We tried and looked for like an hour. While walking around, we saw some lovely things … like a blue lion (in company with my hubby) …

or us with some strange fountain where one could have actually walk through.

.. to the great annoyence of my hubby, after that I just did not want to look for the EDS anymore. And the battery of my cam was on law, so we had to go back to the train station to buy new ones. We also bought a 3 day partners ticket for the entire city. Was quite a bit, but worth it so we did not have to walk around all the time. We jumped on the cable car that took us to the German Museum. By accident we saw the EDS and decided to go there afterwards. Also on the other side of the Museum there was a beautiful fountain - see here:

The museum was a huge. Many things of everything, but no IMAX since it went bankrupt in 2005 (or so). I got in for only 3 EUR - that was finally a reduced fee worth it :) They had much of everything - ships, boats, planes, engines, microscopes etc. With all the walking, Andy and I shrunk to kids size:

Besides many other things, there was also a section dedicated to surveying, geodesy and mapping. Loved it. Saw many things I actually did use and many things that heard of/learned about.

Then we pretty much decided we had enough, so we went back to our hotel while doing a short stop at the EDS. They gave me some pills (~17 EUR :() which I took right then. We bought some kids menu for me and some menu for Andy which we took to our hotel room and ate there. After resting a bit, we went to the English garden since this was the closest one to go. It was bad. Basically just woods, a lake and that’s all. Ah well.

We arrived!

Selina | Trips & Co, me | Saturday, 28 July 2007

in Munich that is … And boy was it all stressful. Why? .. because a certain someone got extremely sick yesterday - up to the point where I seriously considered to ask my uncle to bring me to the ER. Fever started to move to a dangerous level, I could not keep any food down and my head was close to exploding. So all I could do was laying on the couch with Andy giving me cold wash clothes for my head every 1 minute. Luckily, with some antibiotics and lots of tea, I manage to get to feel *ok* in the morning. This meant that we had to get ready in like 4 hours so far, clean, get Snoopy all he needs, buy tapes and other things, so I had no chance to do anything for linabear.com. Update will be when we get home on Thursday.

Anyway, the train ride was ok. I think I swallowed a thousand coal and headache pills. The hotel was easy to find and is - like we usually pick - only a few minutes from the train station away. Our room is smaller than expected, but still nice. It has all we need - tv, bed, bathroom, lights .. and internet!! (though we have to pay for it, but we considered that worth to show you beautiful pictures daily). The bad thing is, with all the running around we forgot to charge my cell phone as well as bringing the cable. Also the battery recharger did not make the journey.

So far we went out to eat (I ate half the meal and it does not seem to make me sick, though my stomach is not too happy) and went to some stores. Tomorrow we will start the big tours, but we first had to find our way around better. We thought about buying tickets for the cable cars, so we do not walk our feet off like we usually do.

I am off to make plans for tomorrow .. stay tuned for tomorrow’s pictures attack :)

Snoopy again :)

Busy

Selina | Trips & Co | Friday, 27 July 2007

Hubby and I went to see the Simpsons movie last night. Hubby just could not wait anymore (it opened yesterday) … boys ;)

I was already working today, taking down clothes and put them away. Threw new clothes in the washing machine and now sat down to blog and revice my eassy. Things I have to do today:

- wash clothes
- edit my essay and print it out
- get ready
- finish the UFO and go to the post office
- do my essay (it’s *teach someone something* thingy)
- buy tapes for the video cam, together with other things
- see my aunt, give her the shredder and the keys to our apartment
- finish the model (almost done), create all the pdfs and update LBC
- make seat reservations for the IC and print them out
- print out the hotel voucher
- clean, do dishes etc.

I am sure there’s more to do, but I just cannot remember all. Hope it all works out.

Model

Selina | Linabear Creations | Wednesday, 25 July 2007

Okay, I made a decision about LBC. The update time will be either Friday or Saturday. I will have 4 different items (which equals 6 patterns). I think that should be very nice. I also finished the pin cushion instructions, so all in all I am sure you will love the new update.

Now off to write some on my essay, wash clothes before our trip, take a shower, eat, take all my pills and rest.

Snoopy

isn’t he a cute bunny?

still around

Selina | Family, Linabear Creations, School & Work, me | Wednesday, 25 July 2007

we spent the weekend with the family, which was nice after such a long time. We BBQed and played games, listened to music and so on.

We came back Sunday, played more games and I had to go to school on Monday. I did not feel well since a while, but it did get worse, so I went alone to my parents to see the doc first thing Tuesday morning. Having a horrible cold and can hardly stay on my feet - hooray :-/ I got antibiotics and hundrets of other things.

Now today I am just laying around, slept a lot, pains everywhere and whatever else. How much fun that is. I am trying to finish one more model, so I can finally update lbc, but I am not sure if I can manage before we go on holiday. Cross your fingers for me.

I must go to school tomorrow and Friday, since there are presentations :( I also have to write a stupid essay for the test, do not know how I can manage yet. I am so out of it. While talking about school, I can proudly say that I passed all tests (-1 that is still not graded) with fine grades. Guess I am not too stupid after all ;)  .. Hubby deserves some extra thanks, that’s for sure :)

Hubby and I are heading to be married for one year!! Time flies when having fun and we do have much fun. The only thing we ever really argue about is …. guess … in-laws (in-law-family)!!!  The situation actually turned all the way around, while usually I was very welcome and liked at Andy’s family, now I am the one everyone pretends that is not excisting. No one ever calles, emails or visits or anything. Makes me so mad and hurts very bad, but who ever said life was nice?

I guess it’s time to lay down again. I start feeling sick again. I will take a little photo of my model later tonight :)

Tets update - final one

Selina | School & Work | Thursday, 19 July 2007

yesterday’s test was Photo+FE .. I do not know if I passed or not. There’s a chance I did ok, but I can’t really tell. Hope I passed.

today’s test was IMT … I did bad, but due to the fact the other subject was good, I should have gotten an ok grade out of this

I cannot put in words how glad I am this semester is over. While the semester itself was ok, the test period was terrible. This last week, I could hardly concentrate on anything.

Testy update, yet again

Selina | School & Work | Tuesday, 17 July 2007

today’s test was PhotoPrak .. which was alright since there was no chance to not pass. All that did the excercises and wrote the test had already passed, so we only went in to get our grades. I did not do too well, but I expect a 3.0 - that’s great yet again :)

I also got the results in from GIS 2 - where I got a 3.0 which was not too bad considering that I only had an afternoon and a bit to learn. I am pleased. Guess after all I am not as stupid as it seems ;) hehe. I also got the result for the one I had to pass in order for them to let me stay in school. Well, I had to look at least 3 times to be 100% sure I read it correct. It really said an amazing 2.0!!! I cannot believe that I was so incredible good :) Way to go me! :)

Now two more tests tomorrow and the day after … I can’t wait to be done, this has been a lot to learn and know as I wrote about 10 exams …

Happy Dance time

Selina | Designing, Stitching | Thursday, 12 July 2007

this little baby will be very soon avaible for free at Lekker Threads. I do not have a name yet - while designing is going well for me, the name giving is hard. So, if you have any suggestions, go ahead :)

Testy update

Selina | School & Work | Thursday, 12 July 2007

Today was ÜPL4:
It was my last try. If I pass I will get my degree next year. If I failed, I will start looking for a job this summer without any sort of degree. You see the importance there. I am cautionally optimistic that I passed - very carefully since last time I was sure I passed, but I failed. My guess is that I got 75+ in one subject and 25+, so even if bad comes to bad I should have the 100% of 200% passed. Hopefully …
