In the mail box, I had my Cross Stitcher (sent by my dear friend Val - thanks!) and the World of Cross Stitching (freshly subscripted by myself as it is so much cheaper than from my German company that sent it to my for over a year). Cross Stitcher has a beautiful Tatty Teddy Christmas Calendar, which I just have to stitch, though I doubt that I a) can start it anytime soon and b) would finish it on time anyway. Luckily next year is another Christmas
We also received another wedding gift later in the mail. It was a big surprise, that’s for sure! It came all the way from Finland from Heidi. Look what a beautiful, handmade gift she made for us:

Lover’s Gloves! One for each of our right hands, and the left hands of both of us go into the third glove. So we can really hold hands in winter! I have never seen anything like this before! What a great idea! Thanks, Heidi
We both simply love it
Good news everyone
I finally caught up with the Christmas Calendar and am now on the same level as my friends are - yay
Picture is as usually not so well, but I hope once i am done with it, it’ll be great …

I finally got a little bit of stitching done - phew. It’s 2 or 3 more days on the Christmas Calendar. Looks really nice. I am still behind, but hope to actually catch up soon ..

When you find yourself making a lot of mistakes in various stitching projects do you find it better to muddle your way through or do you take a brief break from stitching? If you do take a break, how long do you take?
I will take a break. It’s usually happening when I am really tired and/or too distracted by something I really like. Usually, the break is never longer than over night, a day or two. I am not much into doing nothing crafty wise for too long …
I am so so happy it’s finally weekend. Phew. But let’s start at the morning.
We started at 8 AM to make sure we will make some great progress. We did, actually. Until we reached a point where we connected one part to the next part, and there it was. A giantic mistake. After a longer discussion and some ideas about how it could have happened, we finally thought that it’d be a drawing error. Must be. Will be fine once we have the correct and real registered ankle and distances.
We got to go home at 3PMish. Was really cool
and to my surprise I got two packages in the mail. One was my order of two new Tatty Teddies kits
and I also got my surprising package - which included what you see in the pic (thanks so much, you know who :)):

Another day of running in the forest is over. After the day being done, we looked at how much we got done and calculated how far we will be getting. Does not look like we will make it by next Friday :(
Tomorrow we will be starting earlier and hopefully be able to get off earlier. Still no single stitch done
Today in a few sentences: school sucked. Were inside part of the day to calculate. Had a giantic mistake in it, which was not our fault even. Ah well. Then we ran outside and re-meassured some areas. Meanwhile Andy called and said the internet would not work too well. ARGH! I just sometimes hate living here. Anyway, we met at the supermarket to shop, which we did. Spent a lot of money for a lot of food and now are finally back home.
On good news, my subscription just went through and I now get the WoXS much cheaper than the whole time - yay. Over and out for today.
first of all here’s a (bad) pic of my latest progress. Still stitch now and then, but not so much. Usually leave the house by 7:20 and not come back until 6 … and then choures are coming to do

I went to Ettlingen (town) today with Vera. The boys picked us up a little afterwards, all packed of survery things and we drove off. We splited up with Vera and myself going to check on existing survey marks and Daniel and Mathias marking our arear. Us girls met Dr. Hell and he went around with us to help finding where our survey mark thing should be at. All in all we had to set over 15 survery marks, more than the other groups all together. No fun.
Not much more to report. I fell, but did not hurt myself or made me dirty. I walked into a spider web with a giantic spider - which was then on my clothes then. YICKES! We had to *work* until almost 5
I so look forward to being in a class room again ..
Today was the first day of our two weeks exercise. The time from 9-12:40 was spent at the class room with talking about the project. It was rather ok, and I actually liked it. We got a laptop assigned as well as various survey related things.
I got a new school card with my new, lovely name
It’s really cool, and I also got to keep the old one, which is sort of weird. Anyway, from now on my name at school is fixed
From 2-4:30 we spent outside in the area we run around. It’s a forrest with hills and all. No fun as it was raining .. and that one of the teacher guy was pacing up hills like it was flat and even. We must have walked at least one or two hours. In the rain. And then they made us controll the survey instruments as well. In the rain was well. At least we got to go home a little earlier.
Looks like the next two weeks will be as much fun
Ah well. Off to stitch and do some other fun things
DH and I went to our Sunday Zoo time and really had a blast. We did look at the Polar Bears; one gave us one of the coolest shows ever playing with a ball close to us. Then we ate a waffle at the Japanese garden, went on a boat ride and then sat by the lake and read/stitched.

This is what I stitched during our stay (actually have stitched more, but this pic will follow later on):

We bought a little seed package and I will start it today, so watch out for some boring pics
I will start with the thank you cards now and then stitch some more. I also finally need to start with my exchange items - which I need to design myself as it’s a Germany theme. Hmm…
Andy and I just did some online shopping (so much to work on something ;)).
A kitchen machine from Karstadt.de. We actually saw it in the store, but the next day we went it was gone - I was so mad
esp as it was half price, too. It’ll be nice to have a blender and various features to come with it. And the other thing was a mini/camper washing machine. This should help to wash our stuff by ourselves without having to buy an expensive big one, which we had to store in the basement. No fun. If it lasts the next two years, it’d be all fine :) Let’s hope it all gets here soon
Enough money spend for now, I should do some stitching and washing now while watching Star Trek and hubby happily snorring next to me
We just got back from dropping Loren off at the airport. Hope he will have a safe trip home
and that he does not forget to let us know if he made it back home safe
Andy and I will now watch tv and work on things (crafts or websites or something).
Just finsihed the next two lines. It actually looks really great. Sadly, the pics are just horrible. Maybe one day they will be better once it’s done ..

Here’s the first part of the Christmas poetry sampler I am going to stitch with some friends from Germany and Austria. Sadly I am way too late and they’re all ahead of me. Ah well.

Sorry the pic is not so well. My cam is really bad with using red as colour. I think the font is just so tiny, which I had lower count fabrics or something. I will keep stitching it though, as it is ok readable once you know what it means and having a little correct light …
